Nikitas and Maxim blog

It's fun being a kid!

The videos are back!

After a lot of nagging from me, Pavel found a new and better way of displaying our favorite Maxim, and soon to be, Nikitas videos. Going through our files we realized how many little videos we have of Maxim and how few--almost none--we have of Nikitas so far. The second kid always gets shafted! Time to get busy making new cute and humorous videos of both Maxim and Nikitas. So stay tuned for more upcoming attractions! -Melissa

Springtime

img 1087-400We are so happy to welcome spring in Cyprus with colors of red, yellow, lilac and green. We must make the most of it, because very soon it will all turn golden and dry out until the next springtime arrives. Makes us want to drop into the fields of flowers and daydream!

Summer Plans

Many exciting plans are in the making for summer 2009! Our uncle Alexi is graduating from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. Our family will be celebrating Alexi's success with a party and of course good food and good music. Grandpa hopes to fulfill his longtime dream of traveling cross-country by train, beginning in New York and ending in San Francisco. Then Alexi and grandpa Theo are coming to Cyprus in June for more good fun in the sun. Tanya will be joining Alexi on her first visit to Cyprus and perhaps even a side trip to Egypt. Mom, dad, and godmother Riana are busy planning a fabulous baptism for "moi", Nikitas. They are still deciding on a location somewhere in Cyprus: either by the sea or in the mountains. Let us know if you will be in our neighborhood on June 20th! This date also happens to be mom and dad's 5th anniversary. How time flies! We hope that our grandparents Galina and Anatoly will also join us from Moscow in June for the baptism, because we don't think we'll make it to Moscow this summer. Instead, we will likely go there to celebrate the New Year and to feel what a real winter is like. And this is not all! Our dear friends Gege, Nico & Clement are planning to come to Cyprus on holiday in August and this will be the first time we meet little Clement who is just 3 months younger than Maxim. Better brush up on our French! We are enjoying the springtime and savouring the green and yellow hues of the landscape before it turns golden brown and dusty. Green is precious to us in Cyprus because we have it for such a brief time of the year. Happy Spring to you all!

Growing up

Today I took my first pee in my special training potty. Mom and dad were very excited. I like to sit on my potty for a long time. I do all my creative thinking while I sit there. - Maxim

I was on TV!

Some of you may remember that I was on Cyprus TV news in August of 2007 when mom and I took part in a synchronized breastfeeding event in Nicosia. Well, today I was on TV again! An EU funded educational program for high school students interviewed my grandpa Theoharis on being an architect and the impact of architecture on the environment, or the environment's impact on architecture, and mom, dad and I were shown in our home with grandpa. I was so young back then! I wonder when my next TV appearance will be. - Maxim
